Hi,
We really like making good food for good people, thanks for being here!
Toki Doki is a new Japanese Diner on Tofino’s Industrial Way. A casual take-out only space based out of a 80’s airstream and located next to our friends at the Tofino Brewery.
We are here to make fill your belly kind-of-food while you sip on your favourite beer or cocktail (Tofino Distillery is our other neighbour! How did we get so lucky?!). We specialize in Osaka style Okonomiyaki, and Japanese street food.
Toki Doki is owned and operated locally by myself, Madi (she/her) and my partner, Kei (he/him). I tend to be the face in the window or behind the instagram screen while Kei is in the kitchen creating his take on traditional Japanese food.
When it’s not just the two of us here we have multiple other friendly faces that make up Toki Doki, our staff mean EVERYTHING to us and we feel pretty great about getting to work with people we also know as close friends.
One of the most important things to us when starting Toki Doki was contributing positively back to this community and we believe that starts with our staff. We are excited and grateful for the hard work that Living Wage for Families BC has done and are proud to be a certified living wage employer.
Although we may be little, we believe in big things.
We are honoured to acknowledge that we work and live on traditional territories of the Tla-O-Qui-Aht First Nations and operate as a Tribal Park Ally. A 1% Eco Service Tax is added to all orders on their behalf and is used by ƛaʔuukʷiʔatḥ Tribal Parks Guardians to tend to the Intergenerational Gardens.
Here at Toki Doki we are also excited to be a member of Clayoquot Action’s Get Wild program. Get Wild is an educational program based here in Tofino with the goal of protecting wild salmon, by encouraging people to ask for and purchase only wild, not farmed salmon.
Hope to see you soon,
-Madi & Kei
